Western University MSN-E Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi! Is anyone else applying for Western U's MSN-E program? I hadn't seen a thread out there yet for fall 2017. I'm a little nervous about the cost of this program. What are your thoughts about the program, cost, structure, time of completion, etc?

A facebook page has been created for Cohort 14 (August 2017 start) MSNE at WUHS, if you've been accepted, please contact us, we want to make your start with this program as smooth as the previous cohort did for us. If you are unable to contact me here, no worries, we will have representation at the early acceptance day to get the message out to you all!

Hi HomaShah,

What's the name of the page?

I got the same thing to! I never heard of a writing exercise either until I saw the schedule. From precious cohorts, they never really mentioned anything like this before? So I am guessing it is new.

Hi Guys,

I received an invitation today at 11:26 AM to attend an Early Acceptance Opportunity Day for January 19th. Does that mean your seat is guaranteed?

What should I do on that day to be admitted directly into the program?

I would really appreciate your insight.

You're seat is not guaranteed although, supposedly you get a better chance at getting into the program and are more likely to get in the program. It's pretty much like a casual get-to-know-you sort of luncheon thing. Make your presence known, but don't be an attention hog or a know it all. Ask questions. Be interested. Be excited. Be cool, calm, collected. If they feel they didn't get to know you well enough. They will ask you to come back for an official interview.

Writing sample is just for them to make sure you can express your thoughts coherently and logically. It's pretty simple. Wouldn't really stress about it. Spelling and grammar do count though, but it's typed, so you can use spell check.

Thank you Kimmyfarias95

I hope this exercise won't affect our acceptance and admission into the program...

Greenjadedragon thank you for your message , I really appreciate it.

Is there a specific subject or topic they want you to write about ? How long is the essay?

Hi HomaShah,

Hi there, i'm new here. Congrats to everyone who received an invitation. I have a question...how many early acceptances do they let in? Also, is it hard to get in if you did not receive an early acceptance and just received a normal interview? Any insight would help. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I can't access the page. I got the following message :

The page you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may be broken or expired, or you may not have permission to view this page.

You write about a given term or phrase, it's something general. It's probably like 1-3 paragraphs? However long you want to make it, that's how long, but they just want a sample of your writing. They also say, if your writing isn't tha great, there's resources to help you with writing in the program so it's not end of the world.

A lot of people come from early acceptance but a lot of people had regular interviews too. You might be surprised how many people also come from being waitlisted, too, so if you really want it, there's always hope until mandatory orientation starts.

Thak you so much! You're so helpful.
