Nursing Students School Programs

Is it too early to start this thread? I couldn't find another one.

I am planning on applying to the TT 2nd degree BSN program in May in hopes to begin in January 2018.

Anyone else?? Anyone in the program currently or recently have any info to share?? Which location is everyone applying?

Thanks!!

Hi,

I am applying for the Second Degree BSN that is to start in Spring 2018. Here are my Stats:

3.25 Cumulative GPA

3.50 Science GPA

Will have all prerequisites completed by July 10, 2017. I am taking my TEAS at the end of May. I graduate with my bachelor's degree from Texas Tech May 19th, and will have my CNA Certification by mid July. I live in Waco, but would like to be considered in the Dallas Cohort. I am worried about my low GPA but hoping my other considerations will help get me in!

I'm applying for January 2018 matriculation for the Austin cohort. Lived in Austin my whole life! Where is everyone else applying to?!

What counts as towards the science GPA for this program? Does it count all science courses you've ever taken, or just the ones that are prerequisites for the program?

Also- I don't have my CNA but have worked as a clinical/nursing assistant for ~2.5 years by the time I apply. Will I still have to pay for the actual certification?

Good luck to everyone! Hopefully we can get some good conversation started in here since the applications are now open :)

Hey! Recently moved to Dallas last year. I've been an LVN for 3 years, and they said that will satisfy the CNA requirement. I have a BMS degree from UT El Paso in addition to two associates degrees. I'm scheduled to take the TEAS this month, and I also lack pathophysiology. I can't relocate due to my husbands job, so I'll be applying to the Dallas cohort. My GPA is a 3.5, so I'm hoping that's good enough along with my experience to get me in!

Hi!

I am applying for the Spring 2018 program for Dallas. I am not going to apply to any of the different sites as I am not able to relocate. I am also applying to UTA's program, which is my first choice.

I have a Cumm. GPA of 3.8 and a Science GPA of 4.0. I have taken the HESI with a score of 97% but I have not taken the TEAS. I plan on taking it sometime in June. I have submitted all of my application materials with the exception of my CV and those scores. I am a little nervous about my CV...I am lacking on the "professional organizations" column...is anyone else a little nervous that they don't have enough stuff to fill in all the blanks?! I have plenty of work experience as I have been working for the last 14 years, but I really have not had any extra time to join organizations. I also don't have anything listed under research or published works. LOL I may be overthinking it.

Also, has everyone already completed their CNA training? I have not done this...any pointers on where in the Dallas area it is affordable and relatively quick to do this??

My application is complete for the 2018 program!! Did everyone else end up finishing things?

Hi everyone! Submitted all my application supplemental items last week & I'm so so excited and a little anxious 😁 I'm applying to the Lubbock cohort, with Austin being my 2nd choice!

I just graduated from Tech in May with my bachelors in Biology. 3.6 gpa overall, 3.9 for prerequisites, and an 85.6% on TEAS. I am a medical assistant at a local clinic ☺️ I have about 2 years total healthcare experience. Getting my CNA in September or October, and already got my BLS! Fingers crossed tight and hoping everyone else who has worked hard and deserves it gets their spot! I'm living in the Lubbock area, and would love to chat over email (or go to J&B!!!) with others who are applying to the LBK cohort too!!

Good luck, everybody! 🌻

Do I need to complete all the supplementary items(including immunization form) before the due date in order to be eligible for review?

The immunization form is required after you are admitted. Only the required supplemental items that have a "Choose File" option, and the Oath of Residency, need to be submitted before July 15!

Submitted application today! Just trying to get those last few little supplemental items sent in! Anyone here applying to the dallas program? I'd love to link! :)

Where is the Oath of Residency? Is that on the supplemental items list? If so, I don't see it?

Yes, it should be on that list. On my application, it is right above the Proof of Bachelors Degree!
