San Joaquin Delta College ADN SPRING 2014

Nursing Students School Programs

Anyone who is applying to the spring 2014 ADN program at SJDC want to share info with one another? I do not believe there has been a thread started as of yet. So does anyone know the point range that was admitted into the program last semester (whats good/bad), and who wants to share how many points they have? Thanks and good luck to all!!

has anyone recieved any new emails regarding the program, other than the email stating that they have recieved your 'acceptance' into the program?

No, nothing, have you? I know we should be receiving an email regarding e*value instructions soon.

Haven't received anything either other than a response to an email I sent regarding the TB test. She said as long as the first one is uploaded and the second one is in progress we are fine. However... We have no idea how to upload anything!

I haven't recieved any emails either.

Has anyone else noticed that in our acceptance packet, course 003A is listed as a Friday class but the online schedule has it listed as a Thursday class? Personally, I'd rather it be Thursday = less driving!

I am very happy about the change, and only having to commute three days per week. That will help alot of people with work, and kids etc.

Also, emails went out with the e*value tracker login info today!!

Hey all, I'm a second semester student right now. I would definitely recommend taking the nursing guidance course. Although it is tedious and a drive for being a commuter, the students that took the study course benefited over the students that didn't. Nursing students currently in the program in all different semesters come and talk to the class every day. They tell you what to expect, what to actually buy and what to bring to clinicals and such, and you also get a great idea of what to expect from the program... AKA lots of reading. But the class teaches you different ways to space your time and figure out how to live a life with kids, family, husband, job, etc. while also maintaining all of your school work. I know it's a bit hippy, and I'm not one to take guidance classes because I feel like they just jabber about stuff I already know like note-taking, but this one really pertains to the nursing program and completely focuses on that. Plus, for me, it was far better to merge back into school (since I was out for summer and then fall waiting to get into the program) with this as the buffer. I didn't jump first day into the nursing program. I got to stick my toes in by going to campus everyday and getting an insiders view on what the program would be like. Plus, it was nice to get to know my fellow students ahead of time. Made the first day far less nerve wrecking. Get your stuff paid for soon, because the dates sneak up on you. Don't be too stressed though, the faculty is really helpful and not as scary as applications make them seem :) Good luck to you all... Hope to see you around campus!

Thank you so much for the advice! Have to admit that the nerves are definitely there and wondering how I will balance it all. So, what is the program like? Intense, overwhelming, how does it compare to pre-req's? Harder/easier/same? Sorry... the unknown is killer! Can't wait to get started:)

Thank you for giving us the heads up about the class. I registered for my nursing classes a couple days ago and was pretty iffy about taking the class, but I did end up registering for it. I figured i could drop it later if I change my mind. I dont think that I will drop it now. You have me sold. It sounds very promising and I completely agree that it will be a great way to get used to school life again before ADN classes.

Just found this forum... I know we have the facebook page SJDC ADN Spring 2014, but I have not been "accepted" there yet. I need all the help I can get. My brain is not engaged, I found out the day I was accepted into the program that my dad has advanced stomach cancer. So I am trying to adjust and get everything in on time. It is good to see hints and reminders here. Congrats for getting in.

I tried to pay for ati, but received message that semester is closed. Payment code 0114087, class code 1215, any suggestions?
