Question about Walden University - Page 3
Register Today!- Jan 12, '11 by SassieRNQuote from swirlygirlafter some thought, i will not be attending walden university. i was very angry over the holidays due to the stringent requirements for their goal statement. it was very difficult to write and brought back a lot of things that i did not want to deal with, especially, over the holiday season. i was mad and very frustrated. i don't feel i have to explain my whole entire life story of why my grades 10-20 years ago are not up to your standards and what happened along the way. what counts is now! especially, since i am a professionally licensed rn with 2 bachelors degrees and have taken several graduate course with a 4.0 gpa. i decided this university is not for me. in my opinion, this is not showing a supportive attitude for potential students. i felt it was very intrusive. i have applied to several universities and received acceptance. i have never had to explain the deep darkness of my life. i feel it was none of their business. from the reviews that i have read, i will not be attending this school. any school that does not support the positive things that you can bring to their university and focuses on the negative aspects of one’s lifetime is not a school i want to attend. i save lives everyday and i require an education that will focus on the high standards of current nursing care.does anybody have any information about the online programs at walden university? i've been tossing around the idea of completing my bsn and i would like to just do it online since i have a 3 year old at home and i'm due with my second baby in july.
i was just wondering about basic stuff like cost, course load, how much time you spend daily online, etc. and what do you do about clinical rotations? any information would be greatly appreciated!!
- Jan 12, '11 by OtessaQuote from palpepGraduated in in 2010-I have an MSN (not a MS or MN)-should have stuck it out.Just withdrew from Walden after 1 week of class. Found out they do not award MSN, so may not award BSN, either. It is an M.S. degree. Wish I had asked the right questions, so my advice to you is to get connected with an advisor and find out what degree you will be awarded upon completion.
Hope this helps.
P.S. I liked the two instructors that I had. They seemed to genuinely care and want to help me expand my knowledge and be a success.Last edit by Otessa on Jan 12, '11 - Jan 12, '11 by OtessaQuote from sassiernsorry things did not work out for you. unfortunately, every university has different admission requirements. i have had friends not gain entrance to universities. these things happen-don't let it jade you.after some thought, i will not be attending walden university. i was very angry over the holidays due to the stringent requirements for their goal statement. it was very difficult to write and brought back a lot of things that i did not want to deal with, especially, over the holiday season. i was mad and very frustrated. i don't feel i have to explain my whole entire life story of why my grades 10-20 years ago are not up to your standards and what happened along the way. what counts is now! especially, since i am a professionally licensed rn with 2 bachelors degrees and have taken several graduate course with a 4.0 gpa. i decided this university is not for me. in my opinion, this is not showing a supportive attitude for potential students. i felt it was very intrusive. i have applied to several universities and received acceptance. i have never had to explain the deep darkness of my life. i feel it was none of their business. from the reviews that i have read, i will not be attending this school. any school that does not support the positive things that you can bring to their university and focuses on the negative aspects of one’s lifetime is not a school i want to attend. i save lives everyday and i require an education that will focus on the high standards of current nursing care.
- Jan 12, '11 by SassieRNQuote from OtessaThank you! It didn't bring me down at all. I think their admissions process is unprofessional and unacceptable. What I explained in my writing is only the tip of the iceburg. The way she spoke with me over the phone in such a condescending manner was unprofessional. I guess that is why I am a nurse and she is not.Sorry things did not work out for you. Unfortunately, every university has different admission requirements. I have had friends not gain entrance to universities. These things happen-don't let it jade you.Otessa likes this.

Have you thought to complain to someone at Walden about her? She should be let go IMO.Thank you! It didn't bring me down at all. I think their admissions process is unprofessional and unacceptable.
