Indiana Wesleyan University blended option

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello!

Is there anyone who has done/is doing the RN-BSN blended option program at Indiana Wesleyan University? I was looking into taking it there. I have read that they are CCNE accredited, which is good! If anyone did the RN-BSN blended program at IWU, would you recommend it? were the teachers supportive? do you think that by following the directions of the assignments and instructions it is doable to get an A in the class or the teachers seemed to grade unfairly?

Thank you in advance!

I graduated from IWU in their RN-BSN program and it was a blended format...part online, part in class. I originally applied to IWU because the program was supposed to be completely online. At some point during my admission process, I was notified that they were going to be going to a blended format and by that point, I was committed and ready to start so I gave it a shot. It actually worked out great. I got the benefit of face to face time with my instructors. I was able to meet and talk with local administrators when I had questions or issues. My online courses were mostly taught by faculty from Indiana but a few were local and willing to meet up if needed. One instructor called me a few times on the phone when I had questions and didn't understand her responses online.

Overall, I felt very supported by the program at IWU. I graduated this past year and I am looking to enroll in the MSN program. I found them to be fair, supportive, and truly care about their students...at least in the nursing program. The assignments were fair and reasonable. I also found that they were always looking for feedback and willing to make adjustments to the schedule or assignments within reason.

Thank you for your detailed response. It helps to know from others who have recently taken the same program I will take and who have had such a wonderful experience. Thank you again for your insight. It really helps! :)

That is so good to hear. I just finished my BSN and now thinking about my MSN. It's good to know there are RNs out there that have a positive thing to say about a program!
