Getting my associates

Nursing Students School Programs

I am attending nursing school at a local community college in the fall. I plan to get my associates, then my bsn and eventually, maybe, get my msn. I have enrolled and everything is set, but the community college told me that after acquiring my associates degree, to obtain my bsn it has to be done in the state I live in. (Kansas) Why is this? I actually was accepted into the nursing program at Missouri state, but chose a different path right of highschool. I let my CNA expire through Missouri. Now I have decided I wanted to go to nursing school. I finished my CNA certification for the second time and I am so excited to be going to nursing school, but I would like to get my bsn at university of Mississippi. I would love to do the rn-bsn online bridge program but I'm confused why I can't get my bsn in another state. Just wondering if anyone else is or has had this same problem.

I'm not sure why they would tell you that. It cannot possibly be true.
