Tulsa Community College part time program

I was just wondering if there were any students out there in TCC's part time nursing program? I was wanting to know how many days a week it is, how many hours are spent in clinicals, etc. Any info would be great...I've tried to talk to TCC about this, but I never can get a clear answer. Thanks!

I have been in the Pt program since Summer of 2009 we were the first class ever.I will graduate in December. I think since its inception they have decided to just allow students to take classes at their own speed rather then have a PT program. The students were not flowing well in the program and the cost was not justifying all the added expense of the teachers, etc...

As far as classes and clinicals go what ever they tell you go ahead and double it because they never account for all of the travel and group projects and such. So, depending on how many classes you take that will predict the hours that you attend??? I hate to be so vague. If you tell me what class you will take first I can give you a rough estimate of what it took me. I am a mom of 3 with my baby being 1 when I started this program and I work at least 1-2 shifts a week. Let me know if I can be more help.

I too am interested in how many class/lab/clinical hours it exactly is. I was planning on the part-time, and was recently told they have phased it out. I need to work at least some, and am trying to figure out what kinds of hours to work would be best;(days, nights, weekends) etc. Any info you can tell me would be appreciated.

I graduated in December there were a total of 4 of us out of 20 that completed the program. In my opinion the first two semesters allowed for me to take 2-3 extra classes and work 20 hours per semester. However, level3 and 4 were killer and I would recommend having a surplus of cash on hand because they take a huge amount of time. I am so excited that I have completed TCC's nursing program. I easily got a job and I believe I will pass boards w/o a problem. I used my training to take my LPN boards this summer and had no problems with that test. This was a great opportunity because I can now work as a nurse making more money until I pass my RN boards. Sorry I took so long to post but school has really taken a huge amount of time the past few semesters.

Good luck and sleep well because once you start sleep will be hard to get!

I was planning on the part-time program too and was bummed they phased it out. Now you can do classes at your own pace, but only 1 nursing class is available in the evenings and 1 online. All others are Tues and Thurs during the day. =(
