OSU OKC Spring 2014

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Published

I wanted to start this thread for all of the OSU OKC Spring 2014 applicants. I turned in my application yesterday and I can not wait for letters to go out! I am new to allnurses (but not to OSU OKC) and was hoping to share some of my excitement and anticipation with some other OSU OKC Spring 2014 hopefuls!

I got a 90.7 on the TEAS also! And yes, I'm currently at OSU-OKC. I'm taking micro and physio this semester so I didn't get points for those classes. A friend of mine talked to the secretary in the nursing office today and she said so far about 100 applications have been turned in.

That sounds about right. The nursing advisor told me they usually get around 125 applicants and there are 56 spots. Thats awesome you got a 90.7 also! How funny we both made the same score. Did they say how people were scoring on it? I took it back on the 19th of September so not that many people had turned in their apps yet so they said they didn't really know what people were making on the TEAS yet.

Hello everyone!! I turned it my application with 88 points. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be enough but am extremely nervous! Unfortunately, I only made a 77 on the TEAS. The average has stayed pretty consistent at about 70% for our OSU-OKC program with a national average at about 63%. Therefore, I guess I can't be too hard on myself. :) The advisor had said she expected the average to be about 73% so I think the fact that the average is so low will greatly affect the cut off points.

I applied for the Spring 2014 semester at OSU OKC. I am so excited/nervous. Your Teas score was awesome! I got an 81 on it.

I have 103 points. They said we will know by the end of the month but I really hope to find out sooner.

We both have about the same points and teas score! I'm nervous too but also hopeful after hearing the average.

Hi Jloruse (and everyone else!),

It's Christi from Anatomy at UCO. You'll remember me because I was (by far) the oldest person in the class! I'm glad to see that you applied to OSU-OKC, but I bet you'll get into UCO. You're young, so you might as well go for the Bachelor's degree.

I applied at OSU-OKC with 104 points; I'm just now taking Micro and Comp 2. I got a 94% on the TEAS!

The waiting is killing me...I hope it really doesn't take 6-8 weeks to find out if we are accepted.

CL270,

They told me I would know by the end of Oct. at OSU OKC. She actually said we will probably know before then.

Hey! I'm having trouble remembering but I'm sure if I saw your face I would know immediately. Man, your teas score is amazing! Everyone on here has amazing scores so it makes me a little nervous lol. I will choose UCO but I heard that OSU OKC provides a better "experience". At least that's what I heard after speaking to both OSU and UCO grads.

When I turned in my app at OSU OKC, they told me we would know by the and of October at the latest too.

I hope we know by the end of the month. I checked back on last semesters applicants thread like this and it was closer to 6 weeks before anyone posted that they received letters. I'm glad some more people found this post! Good luck everyone! I had been off the grid in Colorado for almost a week so I haven't been able to post until today. I also noticed last semesters students created a Facebook group to help each other contact one another for study groups which I thought was a great idea.

Hi Jennifer,

Clay got into UCO with a 73 TEAS and Chaz (the one who had the operation mid-term?) got in with a 77. I'm sure you'll be good to go at UCO, since they show preference to UCO students.

At OSU-OKC, the TEAS only matters in terms of the points addition to your total. From what I understand, the score is not considered separately from the rest of your application.

Either way, good luck to you. BTW, weren't you going to become an aunt sometime soon?

Christi
