i am getting ready to apply to UCO for the fall 2010, and it doesnt seem llike anyone on this site goes there. are there any UCO students out there?

wow, thanks for all the replies. i am in Meeks micro class and it is really hard. irksmir, would you mind telling me your overall GPa and your science GPA and what your teas score was? i am applying for fall at UCO and OU. . i cant believe their are that many UCO people, i am really glad.

I am sending my app for UCO tomorrow. I am also taking the TEAS test the beginning of next month. How did you all study, and what should I prepare for most? Also, I saw that one had a 3.3 gpa. I have a 3.36 gpa, but my science is 3.75 gpa. I was a pre-med student until recently, so I have chem 1 through ochem 2 with a's and b's in them. I hoping this might show I can handle nursing classes? Just looking for some help!! Thanks!

I just got accepted into nursing program at UCO. The reading part of the TEAS test is mostly common sense, and there is nothing you can really prepare, but if you want, I think you should order a book called "Study Manual for the Test of Essential Academic Skills version V" and be sure to learn how to convert from one measurement scale to another. You also need to know how to convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius, and vice versa. I think UCO looks more into your science GPA and overall GPA than the TEAS test score. I only got 75% for the test. My friend's score was also 75% and got accepted so I was confident enough to apply with that score (Her GPA is very high). My science GPA is 4.0, and my overall GPA is 3.97 at the time I applied. My three recommendation letters were all from science classes. My other friend have very low overall GPA (below 3.0), but with a good science GPA and TEAS test score (about 90%), he also got in. I hope all of this info. helpful to you. Good luck!

Thank you so much! I will def. order that book to study. Do you know if ethnicity plays any roles in admission as well? Thanks!

I don't know if ethnicity plays any role, but I think being able to speak fluently another language is a plus:up: (not everyone in America can speak English, so it would be great if we have nurses that can translate, take care, and make patients feel comfortable ^^:nurse:)

Congrats browneyes!!! I just took my TEAS today, didn't do as well as I had hoped. Adjusted individual total score was 74.7%

Mean- National: 63.3%

Mean - Program: 68.9%

Percentile Rank - National:81

Percentile Rank- Program: 66.

I have an overall GPA of 3.66 and a 4.0 science GPA. I am applying to UCO at the end of this month. Do you think I should re-take the teas test?

If you think you can make better score on the TEAS test => take it again. Anyway, I think you will be fine, don't worry. Good luck to you!

Has anyone heard anything yet as to fall 2011 admission?!

I actually called yesterday, and they said that it will be atleast another two weeks before they know, and then about another week to get letters out.

Thanks for the reply jo'lee! Good luck to you!

I was hoping for a spring break answer, as usual. I guess the Ice Storms set them back a bit.

I was wondering if the ice storm set them back any....ahhhh...another few weeks =/ The wait is killer! Good luck to everyone!!! =)
