I need some advice for 4510. I am having a hard time right now and it is just the first week. Me and my co-worker are pretty bright individuals, however we are not sure maybe the grading is harder the first week. There is not much wiggle room to play with to ensure a B-. Any suggestions? I this normal to feel this way during the first class?

I think what you are feeling is really normal. It is a lot of material and not much time to do it. And getting used to APA is really hard. By week three I think you will find that you are feeling more confident and it isn't as hard.

You have to be organized and commited to putting in the time needed. Don't let yourself get behind.

There are some good posts about getting used to 4510. Scroll through if you have time, helpful hints and just reading some of what other students have struggled with might make you feel better.

Good luck.

I am feeling the same way!!! I was looking at the rubric for the discussion this week, if you received 'proficient' in all categories you would get 6/12... That's 50%. An F. How is that 'proficient'?!?!! I am so stressed about this class.

at this point I am terrified of failing. I'll take the B- I just want to get that B-. I want to go onto FNP school and I just don't want this messing up. Oh man. At least I am not the only one feeling this way and thanks for the advice nursemary I will look into that.

Everyone, I started in Feb, and on my 4th nursing class. I had been out of school over 30 years. Now you can imagine my stress level when I found out most of the work was APA, and I said what the heck was APA? My first week I cried because I got o.k grades but knew I had to do better. Between allnurses and FB, people reached out and helped me and gave me confidence. I put in long hours, but once you get the hang of it it does get better! I was where you were plus I am 56 years old! Hang in there, ask for help, people are more than willing to help. I thank God for this site and others as people have been very helpful. I made my TA crazy but figured that was what she was there for.............to help.
