So I don't know if its these darn pregnancy hormones or if I'm just not that confident in myself but my job kicked me off of my orientation 2 weeks ahead of time becsuse they think I'm beyond ready to go solo but this week I have been freaking out about going back to work. I had a wonderful 6 day stretch off and now I'm like...can I really do this?!?! My mind has been racing to all of the negative possibilities that are likely to happen on our high risk unit and I have now freaked myself out. I'm pretty convinced it's the pregnancy because I don't have anxiety and i am a pretty confident and capable person who has always arisen to any challenge. But I am freaking out. I have been a nurse for 8 years, just new to L&D.

Switching to a new specialty (especially L and D) is a huge learning curve. Don't be afraid to ask for more time in orientation. It certainly won't hurt. Hormones may play a part as well so don't be too hard on yourself. Congrats !!!!

Just because you are off orientation does not mean you won't have back up! We help one another all the time and I have 5 years l&d experience and I still bounce thing off my coworkers! Good luck
