I just interviewed for a GYN/ONC clinic position. The job description was vague, the interviewer was kind of all over the place.

From what I gather, they have a clinic in the med center that they are starting in my area. They want me to work alongside the physician to start it up from scratch (based on the other establised clinic). I landed a second interview, but still don't quit understand the position.

Anyone work in Gyn onc clinic? What procedures, knowledge should I brush up on? Anything will help. I have postpartum and OB surgical experience.

Everything to do with uterine, ovarian, and cervical cancer. Lots of paps, leeps, colpos, cryos, hysts, salpingo-oophorectomies, endometrial biopsies. Lots of assisting with procedures, interpreting labs, scheduling ultrasounds and MRIs, perhaps coordinating surgeries. I don't know if you would actually assist in surgeries.

Ya. I finally found another clinic that was recently started. I got an idea of what they do. It looks like assisting with only minor procedures. It doesn't look like we do any chemo either. Hmm. Deciding if it's a good career move or not. Currently a bedside Hospital RN. Thanks for the info.
