Think facilitating perfusion..

Elevating edematous swollen legs promotes venous return and a decrease in swelling.

Dangling legs over the bed helps relieve the painful symptoms of someone with PAD -peripheral artery disease.

Just a term for using gravity to either shunt blood to (arteries) or away (veins) from the effected extremities :-)
