ATI Med-surg proctored exam

Hello everyone!

Tuesday I have to take my ATI med surg exam and we must score at least a level 2. My question is, how does the actual proctored exam compare to the practice tests A and B? Are these the best material to study since the ATI book is so BIG? Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

I always found the practice tests to be significantly more easy than the actual proctored. But, I managed to get a 3 in all of them (...except psych but that is a completely different story). A lot of ATI is, what I consider to be, very stereotypical information about nursing. I'm biased against ATI so that's about all I'll say. I basically got good at figuring out what the test wanted to hear, even though I knew other NCLEX prep materials and real world nursing tended to disagree. Yes, that module book is GIGANTIC, so just focus on the things you are really unfamiliar with that are common in the nursing world. They tend to question you a lot on how to use crutches and canes (how to up the stairs and down the stairs, how to use a 3-point cane, etc.) as well as care of a patient with amputation, wound care, orthopedic (i.e. traction, pin care, etc.) and/or discharge needs. Good luck!
