Has anyone taken either A or B ATI Fundamentals proctored exam in the last few months? If so, please let me know and I'll write you back; I have a few questions regarding the test.

Thanks!!

Just basic fundamentals concepts. More than a few on tube feedings, a couple of infant questions that we didn't cover at all in Fundamentals.

It was hard to get too excited about it when it really didn't matter much. I didn't strain myself because it was finals week and that was more important! Most people got level 2, I heard very few 3's.

Thank you!!

Does anyone know what the percentage is that it's needed to score a Level 3? This test is worth 30% of my grade.

Were the questions comparable to the ones in the book and practice exams?

Yes, it was pretty much over the same stuff we did that quarter, but the questions were worded kind of weird and they were tricky.

Our scores came out Level 1 through 3, with 1 being the lowest, 3 the highest. I got a level 2.

I don't believe any of the questions are "tricky" they are worded in a way where you need to pay attention to what is being asked. If you were given access to the ATI Critical Thinking module, you should use it, as it helps you break down the question. It basically trains you to interpret the ATI and subsequently, the NCLEX questions.

Ok goo because I don't feel like wasting my time reading the book when it's worth very little in our program especially with exams the same week as the ATI.

What did you feel was the most tricky or what I should look over? Thanks for your help!

Our program adds our ATI points at the end...if we scored 2 or 3 points, those points are added to either our final grade or our final exam grade, whichever is more beneficial to us. Level 1 is a remediation and does not get added. We use the ATI book as a general review before tests.

I would like to know this as well! I do know that the levels are based on the number of questions answered correctly, but more on the complexity of the question answered correctly. If anyone knows, please post the answer.

I took the ATI non-proctored B and thought it was tricky. The ATI Fundamentals book was worthless. I scored much higher by reading/studying the Fundamentals of Nursing book. Most of the answers was easier to find in the book, not so for the ATI Fundamentals book. I take Proctored A this week.

For my program, we get 1pt for passing Non-Proctored B with an 85% or more. We get a max of 4 pts passing Proctored A with 80% or more (depending on where you fall). Then an additional 1-2pts for the remedial proctored, in case you don't get the 80% for Proctored A. All those points are added to our final grade.

Wow, 4 points! Great! There is no rhyme or reason at my school for the points assigned....and last semester we did the Mental Health (that was brutal) and although I scored a 79% on the ATI I received a level 3...where my friend scored an 84% but only received a level 2???? So we were very perplexed.

I do recall the following semester taking another proctored ATI (med-surg) and some of the questions asked were from Fundamentals, so don't discard the information! You need to bring that information forward from this point on.

I don't want to confuse anyone with the points system. You can get up to 4 points depending on the level you reach. Everyone knows we aren't going to reach the highest level and get the entire 5 points added (we are level 1 students). Most of us are banking on getting a total of 2-3 points (including with non-proctored B). However, that is strange with the level difference between you and your friend if she scored higher.

Even if I wanted to discard ATI, I can't. We all have the entire set: Med-surg, peds, etc. It was paid for with our tuition.

Hello!

I was wondering, I am starting to study the ATI book, and review my fundamentals book for the ATI test. Were there any questions on spirituality, legal issues, the family, culture and ethnicity, growth and development? Thanks!!

Which test are you taking? 2007 or 2010?

I am taking the 2010 test at the end of the month. I am starting to study now. I am doing very well in my fund class but I really want to be prepared. Lots of stuff we didn't learn in class. thanks!!!

We just took this test (end of Basic) but didn't have to in Fundamentals. We have 2007 books from when we were in Fundamentals and were also given the 2010 books this year but for whatever reason ended up taking the 2007 test. With that being said I can only tell you what types of things were on that test. I doubt they're that much different.

Safety/infection control, error prevention, med/surg asepsis, transmission, basic care/comfort, therapeutic communication, cultural diversity, assistive devices, sensory/perceptual alterations, pyschosocial integrity, physical assessment, high risk behaviors, health promotion, developmental stages and transitions.

A little bit of everything. I ended up just reading the whole book and it ended up being easier than I thought.

Good luck!

I have got all level 2's and some level 3's. YES, read the book and watch the video provided. Also do the practice tests over and over and over and then one more time. Then read the book over, and over, and over again.

Okay Thanks!! We have to do practice test A and B. I guess the video is listed in the book at each chapter?

I am on my 1st reading, and will read it over and over. Thanks!!
