Scrub Alterations?

Hello everyone!

I'm a very small woman, so finding scrubs that I don't drown in is difficult. After the original price of the uniforms plus alterations, it will come to about $300 so I want to make sure they're done correctly.

The problem is, with my scrubs being so small as it is, the front bottom pockets are smaller than normal. Normally, when scrubs are altered, they're taken in from the sides. But if I did that, it would make my already small pockets smaller (about 2" on each side). So the seamstress proposed we take those two inches from the back, which will leave a seam down the middle of my back.

Nursing schools like to see that their students are uniform in appearance to each other. My question is, do you think the seam will be too much of a change to the uniform? If so, should I just deal with smaller pockets?

I'm probably worrying about this too much. It's just that $300 is quite a large investment and I'd hate to have to fork over another $300.

I should've specified. I'm talking about scrub TOP alterations only.

$300 is a large investment for nursing school scrubs....at all. If they not have available XS scrubs, is it possible for them to special order them for you? I had to wait a bit to get mine in, but they were less than $30 for a pair of pants and a top. Well worth a couple of weeks to not drown in and much better than $300. I'm 5' and about 110 lbs, for reference.

I bought the smallest size they offer, which is XXS. :(

And the reason why it's so expensive is because we have different uniforms for different facilities, plus a lab coat and warm up jacket. All of which has to be embroidered, and have a CON patch added.
