Dansko fit question

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Published

hello. i'm on a shoe finding mission. i had my first clinical last week. i wore the nursemates i got for school and ended up feeling like my arches were walking on rocks. i tried on some danskos in size 43 (i wear an 11 wide-their sizes seem so off) that hurt so bad the second i stepped into them. the top of the shoe shoved the arches into the bottoms of my feet. ouch. the length was fine, heel slipped up. i tried on some 44s today and they actually felt pretty comfy. they are very long though; i can fit my thumb behind my foot. is that way too big? i think the 43s would be a better length but my feet are just too wide for them. for those of you who love them, how much room do you have behind your heels? maybe i'm just not a good fit for danskos??

thanks.

What style were you trying on? Were they the Professional?? I cannot wear that style, due to high arches. The shoe just doesn't stretch the right way for someone with high arches, and was digging into the top of my foot. I wear the Pita style. They have a little velcro closure on the side to adjust the instep, and they are the best thing's I've ever worn to work!

Where were you trying these on? Wasn't anyone there able to help you decide what size was the best for you? I actually just bought a pair of Marcelle's for everyday wear at the Walking Company. The girl that sold them to me told me they are certified Dansko's fitters. Maybe try going to one of those stores. She also told me that the little dots on the inside of the shoes are where your foot should be sitting. So the dots in the back, your foot should just be on the inside of them. Good luck finding a pair of Dansko's. I love mine, and hope you'll love yours!

Yes it was the professional. The guy at the store said the fit was right, but Dansko's site says that they should be snug but the heel should lift up. They just felt so sloppy. I have very flat feet and a high instep. The other styles don't come in my size so the adjustable strap is not an option. Those sure are cute though! The 43s in the professionals did dig into my foot and the 44s seemed too big. I'm thinking they're just not the right brand for me.

Thanks for the reply.
