I have been wondering, does anyone know what the absolute cheapest online RN-to-BSN program is? Also, is the program still considered to be a good-quality program? If not, then what is the absolute cheapest, good-quality, online RN-to-BSN program? Thanks...

There are several affordable RN-to-BSN degree completion programs.

1. Ohio University charges $240 per credit for the online RN-to-BSN offered through their school of nursing, but it is only available to those who live in certain states.

2. University of Texas at Arlington charges $257/credit for the online RN-to-BSN program, no matter where you live.

3. charges a flat rate of $3250 per six month term for their online RN-to-BSN completion program. Because this program allows students to accelerate at their own pace, many people have completed the BSN degree in just one term, which means they paid less than $4,000 for the degree. All books are included in the flat rate pricing plan.

4. Fort Hays State University offers an online RN-to-BSN program for $182/credit.

Thank you so much for posting that info.... Wow, the tuition plan is unreal! But how is the reputation of WGU's RN-to-BSN program? Are they considered to be a "good" program? People have told me to not go with "just any" RN-to-BSN program, so I just want to be 100% sure...

It depends on what you want to do with your career. I'm personally enrolled in 's program and am pleased with it so far. The major benefit is that it is a competency-based program, so you accelerate through the coursework by testing out of coursework if you already have a decent fund of knowledge regarding the material.

The major drawback is that it is a pass/fail grading scheme, which results in a 3.0 GPA conferral upon completion of the program. So if you have aspirations to get admitted into a CRNA program, WGU's BSN will not cut it. However, WGU's BSN will get you admitted into other MSN degree programs (nurse practitioner, nurse midwifery, nurse educator, etc) since the 3.0 is the minimum GPA needed for admission to graduate degree programs.
