Help with College Network

Nursing Students Online Learning

I purchased the entire set of study guides for the associate in nursing degree to get my RN.. then was offered a new position that I LOVE. So I will not be needing the study guides and will sell them cheap if any is interested in getting them for about half price. [email protected]

What company are your guides through. What tests do you have guides for? and What would be the cost?

Do you already have the guides. If not you may want to wait and see how this job turns out. I felt the same way 2 years ago. Now after working long hours and not making enough to save for the future I have decided that it is best to leave the job I love and the co-workers I love and continue with my education. (I had to leave the job because I was getting burnt out my whole life was my job, no time to study, no time for family or friends, no life) The company I went through just held the guides and sends them before the test so that they are up to date.

The Guides are through "The College Network". I have all the Regents test study guides needed for the associates degree. They are original and updateable & I am willing to let them go for 1/2 price which would be $1100.00.

1. Foundations of Professional Practice

2. Nursing Concepts 1

3. Nursing Concepts 2

4 Nursing Concepts 3

5 Nursing Concepts 4

6 Nursing Concepts 5

7 Nursing Concepts 6

I hate doing it, but this new job is so great, I see myself staying for at least 5 years. So this is a real opportunity for someone to get study guides for 1/2 price.

From what I have seen so far most of those guides aren't really worth the extra expense, since you can get all the information you need from Excelsior directly. I did purchase a College Network guide for $80 through ebay (NC1) and the main advantage I see is that I could easily write something better -- and I might, since writing is something I really enjoy. In any event you might have better luck on eBay, though generally you can get resold guides(Chancellors, Rue, and the College Network) for under $100 each, and $1100 might be considered high. Might depend on the time of year though -- good luck!

And good luck with the job too!

From your statement Laurie, I assume that you have read the study guides yourself? Pretty harsh judgment it seems. The fact is that there are MANY people who use these study guides effectively to pass the Excelsior exams. I was just offering the opportunity for one of those people a chance to save some money.

Excelsior provides only the sylabus for their tests. The sylabus lists the books from which the test questions are taken. It's up to the student to get the books, You can buy the books through Excelsior, or any place you can find them,

and from the research I have done, you would pay at least that much for the editions they use. College Network uses PhD level nursing instructors to write their study guides directly from the Excelsior sylabus and texts they use to write the exams.

Sorry if it seemed harsh ... actually I think what I said is "from what I have SEEN" and that's what I meant. I believe I also stated that I had purchased one (College Network).

But you're right, I should have kept my mouth shut. I think what I suggested was that you may have better luck on ebay but maybe not -- used guides are definitely a hot item anywhere.
