EC Practice tests

I think they are helpful. They cost $65 for a set of 2 tests for a particular Nursing Concept, you pay for each set of tests seperate and you take them on line. Once you complete the test you can look at the breakdown for it and where you stand in relation to others who have taken it. Your score might be 80%, but your percentile might be 97%. It also gives a breakdown by question, so you can see what questions everyone got wrong and so forth. EC recommends you score 80% on the second test to ensure you know the material well enough to take the actual.

These practice tests weren't available when I was enrolled with EC so I really know nothing about them other than people think they're great. Just curious, how much do they cost? Do you pay for them one by one? Do you take them online?

Hey Spazz! Fancy meeting you here! The Excelsior practice exams are well worth the money, if only in bootsing your confidence. I tested for NC4 on Monday, and as of last Thursday was in a panic because I just couldnt' get a grasp on the cardiac drugs etc. I bit the bullet and purchased the NC4 practice exams. I found they gave me a better idea of the types of questions to expect. I did one practice exam Thursday, studied on Friday for a few hours, and took the second one Saturday. I passed both (67 and 77%) so that did a lot to calm my fears. In fact, I didn't crack a book on Sunday. I thought the exam was well represented in those practice test questions. I really learned a lot by going over the practice exams and noting the rationales for the correct answers. I walked away with an "A" on NC4. Despite the cost, I would have no hesitation in purchasing the practice exams again.

I sure wish they had them when I was plugging away. I'm glad they do now though, for everyone else. Sounds like they're pretty beneficial.
