ReApplying for NCLEX with Misdemeanor

HELP!!!!

I am in the process of reapplying for NCLEX (in CA) for a second time and have a misdemeanor. I was approved to take the test before but freaking out about how to go about it a second time...

I'm aware that the supplemental documents (cert court records, cert arrest records, LOR, work evals, and letter of explanation) are required again, but have some concerns:

1. I turned in original letters of rec with my first application, so now I only have copies. Will this affect my application? It shows that I'm re-applying, so do they keep the original documents? (even though they want everything turned in again)

2. Should I turned in the same letter of explanation.. or did anyone make adjustments mentioning that they are retaking the test? Will this make it look bad or worse?

3. What are peoples experiences as far as being approved/denied to re-take the test with a misdemeanor?

I'm desperate for any feedback/advice from anyone who knows anything about these situations.

Thank you!

You'll have to talk to the BON about your specific conviction. You don't mention anything here, so we couldn't even possibly begin to speculate. Different crimes are treated differently. There's no one-size-fits-all.

So from my understanding even with a misdemeanor you were approved to take Nclex. May I ask, did you not pass NCLEX the first time and have to take it again and must resubmit the conviction paper work again?
