Frustrated with indifferent HR!

I am stressing myself out!

I have several job offers on the table, only one of which is remotely interesting. The last place I interviewed with is by far my first choice, however, I have not received an offer. The unit seemed interested, invited me to meet the rest of the staff, etc.

The problem (as I see it) seems to be the HR rep. She told me she would get an answer that day; she went home early. A day passed when my (polite) email and phone messages went ignored. She eventually responded that she had not talked to the department (despite the fact that they need someone very soon).

She has known all along that my other offer is rather patiently waiting for me to "decide". Each day that passes and message that goes ignored leaves me rather frustrated.

Long story not very short: I have to make the decision today by 5 going on no feedback from my first choice. Is a bird in the hand blah blah blah? Anything else I should do?

If it helps, I'm not a newb to nursing, and I've been a working adult for some time (ahem).
