Best approach to get information

I am new to the area on the west coast of Florida. Does anyone have any questions they would ask nurse recruters on the initial phone call. I want a job, but I don't want to come right out of the gate asking for one. I am a new graduate, and have some CNA/Med tech experience of 3 years with excellent references. It seems like you have to know someone to get your foot int the door. Any suggestions?
