Interview need HELP!

Nurses Job Hunt

So I have an interview in another state. I am in Wisconsin and the prospective job is in Michigan. I haven't started the process of getting my Michigan license because it is a big expense and I don't want to spend money if I don't get this job. What should I tell the interviewer when they ask where I am at with the process of obtaining Michigan license? Any help would be much appreciated. Kind of lost....

IF they ask you, just say that you have completed the application paperwork and you're waiting to submit it, pending an offer from a Michigan hospital.

However, I just looked at the Michigan BON website, and the cost to apply for licensure (either by exam or by endorsement) is only $54 dollars. That doesn't sound like a very big expense when it might potentially give you a leg up in getting a job.

Yes, the 54 dollars isn't a big expense but you also need to do fingerprinting and a background check and you also have to send in fees to each state that you are licensed in to confirm you are a licensed professional. If it were only the 54 dollars it would be a done deal but with the other expenses it makes it a tough decision.

Also, thank-you for the reply.
