Im an RN with a BSN considering my masters and future options and trying to find the best fit for myself.

Are those with Informatic degrees in high demand? Are most of you having to relocate for jobs? I live in Oklahoma City fyi.

Is the University of Phoenix a good program for this degree?

Salaries for this area of nursing?

What are the best type of personalities for this job? I'm very laid back, easy going and friendly. I'm very organized, efficient, multitasking well, fast worker at work but am not a type a person. I like to stay busy and help others.

Good Morning, I probably am not the best to answer your questions but will take a stab at it. Going for you Masters is great. Yes the demand for jobs is and is going to be huge with the Goverment incentives now. I read someplace there is a demand for 50,000 people in unfilled positions right now.

I also understand U of Phoenix to be very good albeit a trite expensive. I know some who have loved it and done well.

I don't know pay ranges for that level, I do not have a BSN yet. After 36 years of nursing practice am finally beginning the process for BSN!

I've been in this position for almost 10 years now. I think your personality traits sound fine, I have met some with all kinds of traits and all seemed to do well. Patience is a must. Good working situations with all types of people and end users is a huge must. You have to be able to talk up to some and down to many. Not meaning that in a nasty way, some users will be beyond you in skill, some way below! You have to adjust your way in talking with them to get everyone on same level. Communication is key, you cannot over communicate.

Just a few things I have learned along the way! Good luck!
