Productivity in NI

Specialties Informatics

Please direct me if this question has been asked. How is the work of a NI specialist measured or graded? Are there productivity standards? Does quality outweigh quantity in this line of work or is there a battle between the two? Just curious. Other administrative type roles for RNs seem to be more of a sweatshop (taken from a colleague) than anything with a focus on the numbers only.

Specializes in Informatics, Education, and Oncology.

I can only speak for myself. In my previous roles my work has been evaluated according to my job description/responsibilities and my level of goal achievement. At times evaluation of my performance have been connected to specific project deliverables.

There was recent discuss related to this topic (including tool examples) on one of the NI listserves.

Hope that helps.

So, serving as a NI is more like being a project manager? Is that correct?
