Hi, my name is Cherryl I am currently doing a course in Information Technology. I would like to know how is this system in your facility. My facility is currently doing MDS on this system. How does the system works with patients information and medications. Is it much easier or complicated?

What "system" are you referring to? By "MDS" do you mean Material Data Sheets or the minimum data set commonly done on patients in nursing homes?

There are a great many "information technology systems", for every area of healthcare and a great number of modules within those numerous ITSs. :eek: ITS is a generic term. :lol2::cool:

Asking me to explain how one "works" would require more than can be covered in the time and space allowed here. It is akin to asking me to explain how automobiles "work". What type of auto? A semi truck or a Toyota? A Toyota Tercel or a Toyota Rav 4. A German auto or a Japanese auto? Do you mean how a combusion engine works or the transmission? Do you mean the mechanic of the engine or how it "works" in order to drive it? An automatic or stick? See what I mean?

If you are looking for basic principles for information technology systems, :idea: I'd first suggest you narrow down your topic such as explaining how a clinical documentation system works or explain how an order entry system works. That is making an assumption that you are talking about explaining the workings of a clinical information technology system as opposed to a financial information technology system I'd then secondly suggest you utilize the Internet to search and see which clinical information technology documentation system or order entry system you would like to choose from - such as Meditech's PCS system or McKessons HED system, etc and then I'd suggest choosing from that list and reposting asking for someone from this Forum who might have expertise in using and or working with one of those systems, etc.

I am not familiar with the systems. But you could help me with anyone of the systems.
