We will shortly be switching to all computer charting system. Consisting of computers on wheels and/or tablet PCs. In order to do the mandatory checks for administering meds we will have to have a pc of some sort in the room. How do other hospitals handle their computers in isolation rooms? How are they cleaned? Is one dedicated to each room and cleaned in between isolation patients? Thanks for any advice.

I was at a hospital where the hospital bought keyboards and mouse/mice that were or could be sterilized; they were 200 bucks a piece and they really were so hard to use as they keys on the keyboard were so tight and rigid, and so was the mouse; There is a company out there that sells those and i forgot the name of it..anyway, since those keyboards and mice were so uncomfortable, it wasn't long before nurses got rid of them; they would put them back when they had those yearly inspections from the govt, etc! :)
