I am so confused, what will i do?

i have applied last march 2012 for the pre-employment training of SLMC but i was not contacted thereafter, i assumed that i failed the exam and did not bother about my application. last April 24 i received a SMS inviting me for their PGNT that will be starting on May7. I failed to come for the orientation because of some personal reason, but i visited the HR to know if there's still a slot because i was eager to join.. the HR answered me that they no longer have any orientation of the MAy7 batch, next batch will be on june but no guarantee if i will be included... so i went home thinking no chance at all. btw, i am from iloilo and i already have my applications there and will be starting my volunteer service on that same date MAy7. Just this AM i received a SMS from their HR, telling me there is still a slot for the PGNT training (maybe some of those who attended their orientation did not pursue it bcoz of the training fee so there were slots available). I AM SO CONFUSED... will i go there and pursue the training although i only have less than a week preparation or just go home to iloilo and attend my orientation for volunteer service on MAy7?? pls help. :uhoh21:

Hi, I suggest that you choose the PGNT, uhm being a volunteer will give you a certificate of completion and a chance to be hired if you are good, but slmc's pgnt is just as same as that, the only differences are the fee, and being a trainee on one of the most prestigious hospital in the country and how's that? :)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you said there will be no orientation on may 7??? if that so, then you will have more time to prepare since the orientation will be on June.

may i know how can i avail for PGNT?

i agree with cheesy curls. if you have the means to pay then go for slmc. but you have to consider the possibility of being hired. because there are lots of aspirants in slmc. and also the fact that you are going to be away from your family. but watever it is you must be very thankful now coz your dilemma is just choosing the hospital where you can work unlike me who still has to struggle finding one. :)

I think we're on the same boat. I'm also having difficulty to find even just one facility that will entertain my application, I do have a decent gwa and board rating, it's just that i came from not so popular school. I hope that they will still consider those applicants like me, i also graduated and passed the board exam just like them and who can say that i don't know the stuffs that they do? I think it's a partly bias, :(

how much is the training fee @ SLMC?? what are the requirements they need?? do you know their telephone number??? thank you..

As what I've read from the other thread ( st. lukes e rod) the training fee is 10,000 and it is for the whole 3months. You should submit the requirements first to the pigeon box of 5th floor annex II building of slmc and if they find you qualified based on their criteria like GWA of atleast 2.00, board rating of atleast 80% and etc., then they will text/call you once they need another batch of trainees for pgnt. Also, being a trainee does not guarantee us to be automatically hired after the training, it will still be based on the performance.
