So here's the thing: Worked in a call center as I waited to have my results for the boards.. when I got my license, I resigned, which was actually around last week of December 2007. Then on, tried to get into trainings and so I got into one very good hospital and finished my Red Cross and IV Therapy Training... After which, still no job. Now, I took the NCLEX, and I am not that confident that I passed... No results yet. Its my birthday today and I feel depressed coz I still no growth in my career. My parents do not want me working anything else BUT as nurse!!! So I spend my time trying to look for jobs to no avail..... :crying2:

What do you think I should do next?

Apply to Saudi Arabia?

Where I don't know if thats gonna be safe for someone like me?

Need advice. And thanks.

hi nurse pukyaw,

the usual papers are needed.resume, transript, rle, diploma, board rating, board certificate, community tax certificate and letter of intent addressed to the medical director thru the chief nurse. you could send me your email ad so i could give you their names. i still won't be able to use the pm for i haven't had 15 posts yet.

hi icejo, I'm also currently reviewing for ielts now, but also I want to work or be a volunteer in a hospital simultaneously. Where is OMMC? Can you forward my name also?

it's ospital ng maynila medical center corner quirino ave. and roxas blvd. where are you from anyway? it would be a lot easier riding lrt to save time and money of course.

yeah, I'm from monumento, i went there last 2007, but they said that they were having freeze hiring even for volunteers. are they accepting now?how long is the period time of waiting?

as from what most of the staff told us, there might be hiring this january and they will prioritize those who have undergone in their volunteer program.and of course it will be a big help if you know "somebody" from the manila city hall. there's something posted there, some sort of process in applying, you have to volunteer first for 2 mos then take and pass their exam and after that, interview. after finishing and passing all those, they will refer you to manila city hall wherein you will wait for an item as what they call it. there is no definite time as to how long is the waiting. some say it took 2 weeks, some say it took 6 mos.

hello. i've been reading these thread. i am currently doing volunteer work in a gov't hospital here in manila while reviewing for ielts for i chose to go the aus route. the said hospital don't ask for fees. you just have to pass all the necessary credentials at their training office.my batch will end on january 23 and i think they will have another set of 2 mos of volunteer work after that. it's ommc by the way.

where is ommc by the way?

You realize that the original post is nearly 2 years old, don't you?

Reading through this thread is discouraging. I just passed the November 2009 board...

There's simply too many nurses here in the Philippines. I don't understand how people are still enrolling in nursing schools nowadays when there clearly aren't enough jobs to go around.
