Makati Medical Center -nursing training

I'd like to share my MMC experience. they used to call the training for nurses as CETN and COPN.Im not gonna discuss the previous programs but rather focus on what they have now which is CARE

same procedure -apply as HR, take exam, interview, medical exam, requirements

so here's the deal now it is FREE! absolutely free. provided that you also comply with their rules.

***the medical exam is strict and rigorous any findings you will have to repeat the exam and shoulder the cost, every cavity must be filled, impacted wisdom teeth extracted, yes expensive but with a great rationale.

if and when you get regularized (after training 6 weeks, probationary period 6 mos) all medical expenses is Free! that's how great the benefits are. so they have to ensure that the nurses they get are also worth it.

***training is compulsary, regardless if you have 5 years experience wherever or if you have none, the rule is FORGET EVERYTHING YOU KNOW and FOLLOW THE MMC way. to ensure excellent quality and adhere to international standards we have to start form the basics yes VS.. you can only perform procedures once you pass their certifications.. so no IV or meds or ACLS unless you were trained and certified by MMC

***training is strict, any violation of the policy will automatically disqualify you, eg tardiness, grooming... since MMC is investing in you, they have the right to do what they deem is necessary. plus they shoulder one meal a day for your entire training period.

okay so form my experience. in my dental clearance I spent 11K, plus addditional labs and vaccination so close to 13K...

everyday I spend for my fare and makati is really far for me, plus I get up extra early just to be there on time...

but it is all worth it because MMC is the only Philippine institution I know which Repsects nurses, they value and honor us.

probationary period will give you minumum wage... regularization at 6 mos gives you higher earnings, education (clinician trainings) and benefits.

so it is all worth it as long as you work hard and commit to MMC, they will take care of you also.

in my few weeks at MMC i became so loyal already because they really do know how to treat nurses.

Thanks for the info! That's a lot of expenses! :S

will they require you to have your tooth removed even if you're impacted tooth is not bothering you?

To anyone who knows, is it required to have the medical, dental exams procedures, vaccination, etc be done at the same institution? (MMC)

Hi! In your article you wrote that in regards to IV and ACLS, prospective nurses won't be able to do any procedures unless TRAINED AND CERTIFIED by MMC, hmmmm...

Would that mean if you had those certifications outside the institution, that would be considered invalid, which would require us to repeat those certifications in MMC. And if that's really the case, would the training be shouldered by MMC? Thank you in advance! :D

This looks promising. Unlike others who require you to pay, this is simply a good deal.

You'll be repeating all (BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc) except for IVT. If you have IVT license from outside, you'll still be required to attend training but you no longer have to do case completion. All trainings are done within mmc, managers are the ones who'll give you your schedule, and they're shouldered by the hospital.

Wow! Thanks for the info!

Hi! Thanks for the info.. are u now a probee at mmc? Or already regularized? When did you start your Care program? Thank you.

Hi kaibikay1313! Are you done with your CARE program at mmc? Hoping to hear feedback from you. And hoping you can share more of your experiences. Thank you!

Hi. Any idea when is the next COPN scheduled? Does the training follow a regular schedule every year? Thank you so much!

hi colleagues. I have the same question as astrocytes. do you know when will be the next COPN? I posted to bump this thread. Thanks in Advance :)
