Makati medical center- cetn 2012

Hello, my fellow Filipino Nurses!

I'd like to talk about the CETN program in Makati Medical Center.

Last September, I was advised by a friend of mine who is currently a staff nurse in MMC, that they are already open for application for the CETN.

CETN is a training program for nurses who would like to work in MMC. This is NOT a direct hire post. Accepted applicants will go through 2-month training and then eventually, they COULD be absorbed/ hired as a staff.

This has been an on-going program in MMC for years now, but the difference this year, is that the nurses who get accepted will no longer pay the fee of 10,000 PHP.

The process that I went through started with submitting basic credentials like TOR, Board Certificate, and of course, your updated resume. They will screen the applicants from there, based on their board rating I guess, and the school you graduated from makes a big difference. You will be instructed to wait for their call, for usually 2 weeks.

In my case, they called within the week from my submission. I submitted my credentials on a Tuesday; they called me Friday that same week to invite me to come for the exam. The exam was scheduled the next Monday.

After the exam, you will undergo the initial interview. Mine was set 2 days after the exam which was a Wednesday. The initial interview consists of basic questions about yourself, your educational and work background (if any) and there are some personal questions too.

They instructed me to undergo medical examination that same day, and gave me a list of requirements to complete.

I completed the medical exam about 2 weeks after the initial interview. MEDICAL EXAM FOR CETN IS FREE. IT IS COVERED BY MMC. Should you withdraw your application though, they would require you to pay.

I was instructed to wait for a call/ text from HR regarding the schedule of my final interview; they texted 2 weeks after the completion of my medical exam.

The final interview went smoothly; it was a one on one encounter, not the usual panel interview. It lasted for 30 minutes. The questions were about nursing knowledge. They would evaluate how much you have retained and of course your application of that knowledge. Most of the questions were situational.

They called to inform me that I passed the final interview 2 weeks later. And asked me to wait for another call, as a go-signal to pass the requirements they asked me to complete earlier in the process. They also mentioned that the training would probably start in the first quarter of next year (2013), 2nd quarter would be the latest.

I asked a few questions, by the way, on that last conversation with HR. I asked whether we would be given an allowance or any compensation during training, how long the training would last and the probability and duration after training of getting hired.

They couldn't give me an exact answer regarding the allowance or compensation during training because they haven't finalized everything yet. The training would last 2 months and eventual hiring would depend on your performance and vacancies. All these would be evaluated first. According to my friend though, it will only take a week after training then they would call you right away for employment.

That was my experience. I'm still waiting now, they said they would probably call on the first week of January.

Please feel free to comment! I would appreciate more input regarding this. The forum I was following is already closed and I don't have any more resources. If you have any intel regarding the CETN program, please, please comment!

Hi. I passed my requirements at Makati Medical Center HR office last September 1 2014 Monday. They told me to wait for their call within 2 to 4 weeks but up until now I haven't gotten a call. I'm planning to pass again this Monay Sept 29. Does anyone of you passed the requirements around the same date andhave ou received their call or text already? I'm really looking forward for their response. Thanks to whoever will reply. :)

Hi. I passed mine on Sept 8 (for the second time already actually; I passed first week of August too). They told me the same. Wait for 2 to 4 weeks. It's my 7th week already but no text or call yet. I'll keep you posted if they'll contact me. Kindly do the same guys, so we'll know how things are rollin :) good luck everyone!

Alright. Thanks for the info. Will definitely update you guys. Goodluck to us! :)

Hi all, does their grade requires 80 and above rating in the board exam? Thanks!

Not sure. Some say they require 80 and above but I think people should still pass their credentials even if it's below 80 just to give it a try.

Hi, I passed mine last june30 and then sept 15 again. No text/call yet. Will update you guys. Update us, too. :D thanks! God bless us!

Hi guys. I passed mine last week. Hoping for the best. Did anybody hear from them yet? :)

I passed every step last march except medicals. Im planning to pass again, did they move the hr dept? Last time I passed hrd was at 5th/6th floor, i think. Where is it now? Please enlighten me. Thank you fellow nurses!

Hi! I forgot what floor was it but it's now on the new building (building C?). I think their hrd only have an office space on that building. On the first floor is Starbucks. You'll easily find it. :) Good luck to us!

Hi guys. Just want to ask for opinion. I really want to work in MMC but I recently got into the PGNT of Cardinal Santos which will start November 2nd week and will end on February. I'm wondering if I have to push through with CSMC (worth 10k) or wait for MMC to contact me. I don`t want to stay idle anymore and I want to grab any opportunity to practice asap even sans the salary. But the thing is the year is closing and hospitals (incl. MMC) are likely to start a hiring spree again (I'm not sure with this though, is this really the case?). If you were in my place would you commit to CSMC or wait for MMC to open its doors?

I have the same situation. I resigned to my work already because they told me that the training would start sometime in September. However, I called this morning and they cannot give an absolute answer regarding the start of the training. I assume that you also signed some papers and transferred all your government memberships to them. If we cancel our MMC and shift to CSMC, would they charge us for our Pre Employment Medical Examination? If so, would we need to cash out about 21k for both hospitals? The good thing is that we are in line for MMC. The only problem now is the exact start of the training so that we could plan and do something else and not be stuck at doing nothing but to wait.

Hi! What date did you passed your credentials at MMC and did they actually you before you have tried calling them. Thanks! Just wanted to know. I passed mine last week of September but I haven't heard from them yet.
