i really feel bad about whenever i think about the lost time.. I mean im a june 08 passer with no hospital training whatsoever (i dont know if IV therapy count). Especially if my mom comapres me to her "amigas" children... She usually tells me how come *beeep* is in training howcome ure not.... little things like that. Its not like im not trying. And i just think how many people wants to be in my place . I just wanna share this lol The main thing i wanna ask is where THE **** can i start training.... Ive applied to hospitals but with no luck at all. Can you guys tell me where's the a good place to train? BTW i lice at Quezon City near mindanao avenue

it's nice to know that i am not the only one under the same situation. i'm also a june 08 passer and a 2nd courser. luckily, i got employed as a company nurse at sm last november 08 but only on a contractual status so this is actually my last day of work (total of 6 months). i have already applied in other hospitals and companies months ago in preparation for my termination but until now i have not received any calls from them. like kyckerz, i have other non-nursing jobs e.g. river rafting guide, photographer, assistant to a swiss anthropologist and i am thankful that even during this time of global economic recession, i still have a job even if i am not using my degree for it. i also suggest to my fellow non-practicing rns to find a job in other field while waiting to be employed/trained in hospitals but also do some readings about nursing once in to make up for the times we spend outside our profession. or sign up in jobstreet.com coz i posted my resume there and there are actually jobs for entry level nurses/fresh grads in us and ksa. you can also try the bridging program in australia if you have enough funds. you can process it by yourself and get favorable responses from the colleges/uni in a relatively shorter time.

trust in god and everything will fall into place j

You are not alone in this. I too am a june 2008 passer and still unemployed. I took a year off to finish all the necessary exams for the states and the trainings needed here in manila. Thank God i passed. But i wished i handed out my resume sooner to the hospitals here. I want to work in SLMC-GC but i've been getting news that they are currently on freeze hiring and have started training nurses already :(

Can you imagine, im going to pass my resume for the first time tomorrow!! After one year of being a bum!! My hopes are not that high but im still going to try..i have to! Im being compared by my parents too..i know it's annoying at times but just think that they are acting on our best interest. We just have to keep on praying and hope that one day, luck will be on our side and hopefully have jobs :)

keep your head up! we will be regular nurses soon, june 2008 passers!:)

bite_me , just pass your resume at st.luke's it's still worth the try i heard from a very reliable source that global city is currently on freeze hiring but they will open again by october since some of those who passed the training from the earlier batches of nset declined the offer of being employed at st.luke's-gc because the waiting was just so long..
kyckerz, couldn't reply to your pm 'cause haven't reached the required no. of posts. just be patient and wait that is what i'm doing and hopefully we can train there and probably get absorbed. i just heard that news from someone currently employed there and who knows someone from the nursing division.
^^

the problem with that WINDOW M of POEA is that they only accept FEMALE NURSES. ive tried to submit my credentials last september but unfortunately they dodnt accept my resume.

im also a june 2008 passer and i knew the situation here in the philippines that's why the week after i got the result of my exam, i applied to 18 hospitals!!! 3 of those hospitals called me up for assesment/interview. then 1 hospital accepted me as a volunteer for october-december last year and last january, that hospital hired me as an ER nurse. i lost my phone last december so the other 2 hospitals didnt get the chance to contact me for the follow up/result of my assesment.

my advise to all of you guys, work in a callcenter first while waiting for the hospitals to hire you. i know there are callcenters that dont hire nurses anymore but you just have to tell them that you didnt take the board exam. hehe

then take the BLS, IVT and ACLS training becuase most hospitals are requiring those trainings, especially the IVT and BLS

...ahm can i just ask out of the topic....have you already got your board certificate...when i went to PRC-manila last April 2,,,they said that they are still releasing those with license number of 419plus....mine is 516plus...

stephie_magz, i am hoping for that thing to materialize, since i've waited for 9 months to get in. :) break a leg to all of us! and if not, i'd rather migrate instead (forget about what i wanted to do here for the country and let myself dive in tons of money) :)

hello guys! im a 2011 passer.. just like you guys, when all of you are recently passed the board no job opportunities after, for more than a year.. how are you now guys?? Batch of 08 nurses!.. did you practice now your profession? are you already a regular nurse now? or do you guys change you path to other job?
