gwenith posted a website with the banana song that I loved singing to the very end. While on that site, I sang another song that I always loved singing as a child, teenager, adult....even now. :D

Click on the link and sing along then share how it made you feel afterwards! We need a little joy and laughter in our lives, so be a kid and act silly and have a good time singing along and sharing your favorite childhood, teenhood, adulthood songs that make you laugh, smile, or simply feel all fuzzy in side. :kiss

:chuckle Hi Jnette,

I remember singing that song a lot too. The last time singing it on a long trip was when I went on our senior class trip. It was soooo much fun!

Another one I liked a lot was the Old Rock Candy Mountain. Does anyone else remember that one? when I sung it, I'd actually involve myself in the song- a child's dream for sure. The lyrics went,

Oh, the buzzin of the bees, and the cigarette trees, and the soda water fountain.

The lemonade spring where the bluebird sings on the Big Rock Candy Mountain.

I liked, My Bonnie went over the ocean, my Bonnie went over the sea, my Bonnie went over the ocean, oh bring back my Bonnie to me. Bring back, bring back, oh bring back my Bonnie to me, to me, bring back bring back, oh bring back my Bonnie to me.

Last night as I lay on my pillow,

last night as I lay on my bed,

last night as I lay on my pillow,

I dreamed that my Bonnie was dead

Brought back, brought back, they brought back my Bonnie to me to me brought back, brought back, they brought back my Bonnie to me.

and, Oh my darlin', oh my darlin', oh my darlin Clementine, thou art lost and gone forever dreadful sorry, Clementine.

and yet another, Home home on the range, where the deer and the antelope play,

Where seldom is heard, a discouraging word, and the skys are not cloudy all day.

Oh give me some land, where the bright diamond sand, flows leasurely down the stream,

and the beautiful swan goes a gliding along, like a maiden in heavenly dream.

Oh! This is so addicting. I better quit now before I get carried away and spend the rest of the day here. I have just one more post.

Love ya:kiss

Carly,

Nice to meet you. The lyrics of The old McDonald Had a Farm here in the US went like:

Old McDonald had a farm, e i, e i, o.

and on his farm he had a cow, e i , e i, o. with a moo, moo here and a moo, moo there, here a moo, there a moo, everywhere a moo, moo,

old McDonald had a farm, e i, e i, o

then a dog, and a pig, and a horse, and a chicken, etc. with the same lyrics.

Now, can't you just feel yourself wanting to sing?

You have a good day now.:)

I love your reply Renee.

The grandma's house thing? It really happened one time, and it remains one of my precious memories. It went like this: My grandson Jake was 4 years old at the time. Around 4 AM one night, my daughter heard noises coming from Jake's room, and decided to investigate. When she looked in, there he was, sitting on the edge of his bed, fully clothed, and putting his shoes and socks on. Marie asked him what he was doing, and he said, "I'm getting ready to go to Grandma's."

Yes they truly are Grandma's playtoys.:)

Awwwww how cute Fran! :) What a sweetie pie. :kiss

Does anyone recall having to learn the following song in grade school?

Toreador be on your guard

Toreador

Toreador

Be on your guard with firm and steady hands

Bright stars gaze from above

And love is your reward

Toreador

Toreador on guard

Tor - or - re - e- a - a- dor

Toreador...........nowwwwwwww on guard!

I can still hear the my grade school choir singing that song. Heck, it was a requirement to learn, and we sang it at a school assembly. :)

I hope I remember the words correctly, if not.......oh well...forgive my failing mind. :chuckle

I don't remember that one, Renee. But I vividly remember that it was a standard rule at our school to learn and sing all of our patriotic songs like,

You're in the Army Now

The Ballad of the United States Marines

First to fight for right and freedom,

then to keep our honor clean

We will fight for right and honor

of the United States Marines.

My country Tis of Thee

The Battle Hymn of the Republic

The Stars and Stripes Forever.

A tradition we should still keep. It means a lot to the young men and women who are laying their lives on the line for our freedom.:)
