On the other side of an interview for 1st time!

Hi everyone! I've been a full time nursing instructor at a community college in Illinois for the past 2 years and have been loving it. We are in the process of interviewing candidates for adjunct positions and being the newbie of the nursing faculty, I'm not sure what types of interview questions to ask. Any suggestions? Most of the Google searches I've been doing on interview questions seem more geared towards tenure track interviewees or staff nurse positions. Anything besides the standard interview questions that any of you have ever come across?

I like to ask about staff/bedside nursing experience, recent I might add.

We had an applicant with some strange doctorate degree that had 3 years of RN experience & even that was limited. Since you are at a CC, ask about how their degree/education/experience: will they be able to relate to the typical community college student who are adult learners in many cases. I like to look at their CV & try to read between the lines. I have gotten braver with experience in asking my questions. I am a FNP who has only been teaching for 4 years in a BSN program, so I consider myself more of a bedside clinician first. If they are interviewing for clinical instructors, drill them on their acute care experiences. Don't be afraid to dig & to speak up when you don't think the interviewee is a good fit for your student/program/faculty group.
