Ok this is my first time doing this...boy do I need some good ol' advice! I graduated nursing school in '05 and have been working nights on a med-surg floor for the past 2 years to get some experience. I just got married, I'm feeling burned on the med-surg floor due to staffing, the load, etc. My family is important to me, and I've missed out on a lot due to working weekends, holidays, and such. I want out of the hospital routine, and I just don't want my life revolving around work, I just want work to be a part of my life, you know? I've been reading up on office nursing, which is what I've been wanting to do, and was wondering how to find a job working with an MD or something along those lines. I want the classic monday-friday work week with daytime hours and holidays off. I've looked online and in the newspaper and all but majority of the RN jobs are for hospitals and travel nursing. How else can I go about finding an office nurse position or something similar? Any suggestions?

Try going on large hospital websites which are affiliated with a clinic, and see what is available. Good luck!
