Nurses Career Support

Published

I need advice. I've recently graduated with my ADN and shortly after moved to Or. I'm concerned that finding a job in a hospital here is going to be nearly impossible. My dream unit is L&D (I know this is a hard unit to land). I have extensive experience in an OBGyn clinical setting as well as ENT and Asthma/Allergy. I have multiple letters of recommendation from the midwives and Dr's I've worked with through the years, but I'm worried this won't be enough. I CAN'T work in LTC facility. While some nurses are cut out for it, I'm definitely not one of them. I'm looking for advice on what to try to get my foot in the door. Being fairly unfamiliar with the area I don't even really know where to start. I'm open to a long commute, night shift, surgery center, etc... Please help

Thank you

May be very challenging due to extreme preference for BSN grads & very few new grad opportunities in the PDX area. Hopefully, you'll get some excellent advice from PDX-ers on AN very soon. If not, you may want to post your query in the OR forum.
