New graduate RN ADON position in LTC

Nurses Career Support

Hi,

I have been offered a job as an ADON in a LTC. I just recently got my license last month and I have no experience. I have never been a CNA or even an LPN. I have never been a leader all my life. I'm not sure if I should take this job. I have applied to other places and I have had no luck of finding a job. It's been hard for my other classmates to find a job too and they are advising me to take the job. The pay is good but I'm looking into being an experienced RN. Should I take this job? I will appreciate any advice I will get. Thanks

Specializes in PACU, pre/postoperative, ortho.

I would be VERY leary of taking a job with a facility that would hire a new grad with no experience into a management position. You really have no idea what you're getting yourself into.
