Interview

Nurses Career Support

Published

I am new to this forum as of yesterday and posted my welcome, today I got my first call on a job interview. Boy I hope that I can answer the questions that they ask and also that I will be able to remember all of the things that I learned in school.

Anyone have any words of incouragement on the interview process. It has been many years since I have had an interview and the first for the nursing profession.

Also please keep me in your prayers that i pass this phase and get the job.

Thanks,

I've said this a few times, but just to repeat myself. Relax a little, the job interview is not a "test" of your knowledge. The Manager is looking at you to see if you appear to have the ability to learn, the ability to get along with the personalities she's got working for her, availability (not someone who can only work every Mon Wed Fri....). and interest.

You are also evaluating the department as a place you might like to work. Be sure to ask lots of questions regarding policies, pt load, floating, Overtime, etc...

Be yourself, and present yourself as a professional!

Good Luck.
