Interested in Occ Health Nursing

Hi,

looking for career advice re: getting into Occupational Health Nursing. My most recent skill set is psych nursing and case management. I have been a nurse for 16 years. Started off doing Oncology Nursing then PostOp Ortho Neuro Nursing but the recent exp is on mental health. Is is too much of a stretch to try for Occupational Health or Employee Health jobs?

I don't think so. I have seen many recent openings in occupational health, and the job entails (from my experience in the hospitals I've worked)- helping with yearly physicals, PB's, placing and reading TB tests, Fit 95 N testing, flu shots, and helping with anyone that comes in for work related injuries. A friend worked employee health per diem and she only had some med-surg, and OBGYN experience. It doesn't hurt to apply.
