I'm 26 years old. I just made a major change in my life and I'm thinking of making another.

Too keep it short, I just moved all the way from South Jersey to San Diego. This is a major changes for my life. This is my first time living on my own and all. So, yeah, it's been an adventure.

I'm currently in the restaurant business . I went to culinary school to be cook and eventually be a chef. I'm trying to get out of it. Not only do I hate the hours but I do not know if I want to be chef for the rest of my life.

I think nursing could be very good for me. I always wanted have job where I help people. Anyway, I just need to know more about it. If you can just give me any info (good stuff and bad stuff) about the career and the schooling for it.

Here's a good post to look at: https://allnurses.com/forums/f87/start-here-helpful-info-stickied-threads-nursing-career-advice-275356.html

The hours in nursing isn't always that great to start out because it's a 24/hr job, weekends and holidays included. Seniority and experience will get you better hours.

There's a lot of posts in the various forums here about the good and bad in nursing. Take a look around and if you have specific questions please ask.

Nursing is a career with a lot of flexibility, which is great because you don't have to be "stuck," doing one thing if you don't like it. For example, if you don't like bedside nursing, you can always work in a clinic, or at an outpatient setting, in surgery, or at a school district.

You have so many options!
