I'm a CNA in Texas have been for years and was told that Texas and California that there is a bridge program and it's a short cut to become a LPN by challenging the nursing board.I called up TX BON and asked them about it and I was told that it's misinformation,Well I also called CA BON and asked them and they said if TX said it's not so then you can't do it.Well then does anyone know about a LPN programs in the Houston area that's non competive and non profit?I've called up some schools and there is a waiting list.Or would any have any advise on how to challenge the Bon.One more thing I saw info on craigslist about CNA to LPN how to challenge the BON in Tx and CA and emailed the ad back and have not heard back from it.Any advise? Thank you

I don't want to be flippant, but you're looking for unicorns. There is no such thing as a low cost program that is not competitive. Those low cost programs have a jillion would-be students beating down the door, so they are very competitive.

Your informant was correct. Texas does not permit anyone to take NCLEX-PN by 'challenge'.
