Choosing NP programs

by cfrimer

Hi all,

I was wondering about the relative importance of the accrediting organization for NP programs? Are CCNE-accredited schools "better" than NLNAC-accredited ones, or vice versa? Does it make a difference? One of the programs I'm considering is NLNAC only, the other is CCNE only. I'm getting confused...

Also, what about the "name factor" in terms of getting hired after graduating from an NP program? And how can one determine which programs are viewed more favorably (other than, say, US News rankings; none of my programs are in the top ten over all or by specialty, anyway, so that's a moot point for me)?

Thanks!
~Chantelle
