advice on deciding if to pursue nursing

Hi everyone, Im new so not sure what to expect x was hoping for some advice on deciding if to become a nurse, i have always wanted to work within healthcare since being young, and want a career that helps improve and make a difference to lives, i want to really help people any way i can. I am very kind, a great listener, patient and have empathy towards people. I am however really shy and lack alot of confidence and are nervous alot of the time. I have been seriously considering nursing for over a year now, would want to specialize in hospice/district nursing. are just looking for some guidance, would my shyness stop me from becoming a nurse? also there are alot of negative comments towards this profession so not sure what to expect.I feel drawn to nursing and feel i would be able to contribute and really make a positive impact on lives. Any advice would be greatly appreciated x just wish i could make my mind up! x
