On Oct. 30, ANA and four other national public health organizations joined with over 1,900 physicians, nurses, health scientists and other allied health professionals in rejecting President Bush's so-called "Clear Skies" initiative. The group instead called for cleaner air for future generations, accountability for polluters, and an administration that will fight global climate change. The organization - Physicians for Social Responsibility, the American Public Health Association, the American Lung Association, the Children's Environmental Health Network and ANA - have delivered President Bush a letter calling on the administration to uphold the Clean Air Act.
