If I am on short disability is my job safe?

Ok so I managed to fall off my horse into a rail and break my nose and wrist. Obviously I'll have to go on SDI for at least 4-6 weeks. Will I have a job when I get back? I'm in private duty so probably wont go back to the same case but will they be obligated to find something for me?

In home health this has more to do with your working relationship with the staffing coordinators than anything else (besides the availability of case work). They can always tell you there is no work available and give the work to everyone and anyone else. You will have no way of knowing this. The best way to find out the truth is to file for unemployment once the disability is over if they don't give you a case. An unemployment claim almost always causes work for an employee.
