Recovery Trek

Nurses Recovery

I am new to the Recovery Trek world! I am in limbo waiting for them to email me when I'm to start testing. Does anyone know how long it takes once you register with them? I'm a single mom and $55 rest fee makes me nervous. It's not a lot of money to most but it is to me. Just want to be prepared. And has anyone ever had to test more than once in a week?

It's a lot of money. When you first sign up for recovery trek you should rely on instructions on how to do it from your counselor in monitoring land. I have an app on my phone I check daily (actually multiple times daily) to see if I need tested. I was selected today for option # 2 which costs $69 for the test and another $15 for a collection fee so that $84 total. At first I was tested at least once a week but that's down to 2-3 times a month now. Here we also have to pay for a weekly nurses support group meeting which is $25. I figure its about $100 per week to comply with those terms on average

Yikes! What I read said it's $55 unless I have to go to a 3rd party lab. I hope that's really all it is. That's why I was wondering after you sign up how long it takes for you to become active and go "live" I received an email that said I will be receiving another email as to when I will start but wondering how long that email takes and then how Many days til you start checking in. Am I explaining this right?

Yeah that sounds about right. Just pay attention and follow the instructions and I'm sure you will be OK. The actual fee may be dependent on the state you are in. Once it starts make sure you check everyday and don't miss a test or check in as that gives the powers that be more license to mess with you more than they already are. What state are you in? How long is your program?

It should only be a couple days before you get the go ahead to start checking in. Of course, the monitoring employees, and the RecoveryTrek staff, don't work weekends and Monday is also a holiday, so it's possible it might be delayed a few days for you.

When I started I checked in for 3 weeks before getting selected to test. My tests were/are $55 unless I choose to go to a different lab, other than Quest. You might end up doing that due to the lab hours or locations. I was selected pretty much 2-3 times a month at first, but I know some people are every week. I was tested two days in a row once.

I stress over checking in, am terrified I'll forget to check in. A missed check in is considered a positive drug test! So I have a recurring task on my calendar with an alert set. It's a task, not an event, so it can be checked off when completed. So I never check it off as done until I've completed checking in (which I do through an app on my phone). Also, because I constantly worry that I've forgotten, and have checked the item off accidentally (like maybe yesterday I checked off today's task), I also do a screen shot of the screen that shows up when I check in. It's got today's date, and it has a green check mark that says "You have not been selected to test today". So whenever I worry about whether I've really remembered to check in or not, I can see the screen shot in my photos. Also, if I AM SELECTED to test, I do not check the task off my calendar as completed until I actually finish going to the lab, so that it will continue to alert me until I finally go to the lab. I'm terrified that I'll just out of habit go straight home from work instead of going to the lab! Sound paranoid and way overkill? Yes, yes it is.

Thank you all for the info! I'm so stressed out over this! I only have a year of it and just want to get it over with already and get back to a normal life without the stress of loosing the license I worked so hard to obtain!

Hope everything has been going OK so far! I have been testing for 10 work-days - selected twice for Opt. 6, which was $78 both times at a Quest facility . Killing my pocketbook! Does anybody know what the different options mean? I'm glad to have found this site too. I really haven't thought of the different foods...I sure do need to look at the list, which I haven't done yet! & I'm not sure if they call you immediately if you test + for anything... like you, I need more info! Good luck to you!!
