Nervous about reinstatement meeting...

Nurses Recovery

Published

So I'm preparing my packet for reinstatement and have this overwhelming feeling like I am not doing it correctly. I feel like the board is going to find something wrong with how I've prepped it, and will deny me my licensure. I have followed everything to the exact specifications, have not missed a drug screening or check in to date. But I still have this sense that I am going to be denied or asked to come back in 90 more days. Maybe it has to do with all the RNs in my aftercare group. A majority began in the AP (non-disciplinary) and then because of various reasons moved to the CDDP (disciplinary)? I have so much angst, and so little control! I'm ready to take the next step, I just hope they can see it too. Basically I'm looking for feedback on what others felt, thought, or had happen to them in hopes of easing my own stress right now. it's always good to hear from those who have been or are at the same stage as I am right now.

Thanks Michelle, I'll be in contact :) Considering I'll be going out of my mind until I get a date with the board lol

I was reinstated in NJ but I had an attorney. Even with the attorney it was nerve wracking. I just want to wish you best of luck. we all deserve a chance to redeem ourselves.

Thanks... I am waiting to hear if they accepted my packet, if all goes well I'll be reinstated in 3 weeks time! It's the waiting part I'm having a hard time with lol. I'm just trying to stay busy and not thinking about it as much as I know I could!

If you were missing anything, they will notify you of what're needs to be submitted. As long as you submitted EVERYTHING they ask for you should be fine. In retrospect, the hardest part is when you sit in front of the panel of board members. I almost wet myself. If you're confident about your recovery and are working steps honestly, you'll be in tip top shape. Enjoy the journey. It's a process.
