KNAP oh lord!!

Nurses Recovery

Published

Hello! I am a new LPN in Kansas and I have now self reported and am in KNAP. I have been so down in the dumps about this program. I self reported for failing a pre employment drug screen once the lady who called to tell me I had failed was going to report me to the BON. Are there any KNAP nurses on here? I could use some advice about how to get through this program without any problems. I have been in for a year now and have had no problems at this time *knock on wood* I have had all negative screens. I don't know I could just use some advice. I have been just so down on myself lately. I have a job...finally...after being turned down left and right. But the drive to the job is getting to be too much for me, I applied, interviewed and scored the job that would be a perfect fit for me...literally 20 minutes from home, a pediatric office, working one on one with a great doc but as soon as I was offered the job and said the word "KNAP" the job offer was taken back. UGH! I was heartbroken. I should of disclosed it at the interview but I wanted to see if I could get the job by being ME and I did but ohhh no I am a nasty little KNAP nurse. I am off my key restriction...I just need employer letters every 90 days that is all. I mean come on. I just want to give up and go work at Walmart!

Specializes in PDN; Burn; Phone triage.

Where are you at? Health Partnership Clinics are KNAP friendly, several of the SNFs in Overland Park/Olathe also hire KNAP nurses. KU hires KNAP and uses LPNs in their clinics...

I have an interview at Health Partnership Clinic coming up. Unsure how that will go. I love the job I have I work in a clinic but the drive is too far. KU is too far. Thanks so very much for the info.
