Wondering if anyone has worked while they are waiting for their case to come up? I was blessed to get a job in dialysis back in August , I told my boss I'm being investigated my the BON and she's very supportive- she knew me before I became an addict.

I see that you asked this a ways back but yes I did work successfully and without any issues until my case was taken up by the Tn BON. I chose to leave the hospital I was at rather than take a leave. That way I can attempt at rehire when I am eligible to return to practice.

I knew once I received the Consent Order from the Attorney General I would have to cease practice until TnPap agreed I was safe to return anyway.

But ultimately yes to answer your question. I worked with no issues until I was told not to.

Hope all is well with you and I know how hard waiting for that shoe to drop!

God bless!!

Thank you. It's just hard to believe it's been over year (Feb 2016) since I self reported and met with an investigator.

I know each case is different though. How long did you wait until your case came up with the BON?

I'm still working in dialysis, will be a year in August and I'm so thankful.

I've completed a 10 week outpatient addiction rehab program - I'm praying that will be enough , and I've been sober for 17 months now. My worst day sober is better than my best day drunk/high :-)

Hope your doing well .

The best idea is to work in dialysis while waiting. In case you get probation, they are the employer most likely to work with you. Plus, no narcs in case you're restricted. And it looks good to the board if you're not handling narcs.
